Description

Lyprinol is a natural marine extract composed of a rare combination of lipid grups and omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Current research indicates that these omega 3 fatty acids may provide nutricional support against fatty acid imbalance which can result in excess inflammation. As a result, it is thought that lyprinol can help maintain healthy joints and airways.

Lyprinol® is derived from the New Zealand green lipid mussel Perna Canaliculus.

This shellfish eaten by the coastal moaris as part of their diet, is found in the northern tip of New Zealand south island. Here in a region called the marlborough sounds, nourishing Pacific currents create the ideal enviroment for growing the mussel in pristine and uncontaminated waters.

Lyprinol® is stabilised and extracted via a gentle patented process.

Enhanced potency
One of the main differences between Lyprinol and fish oils is the amount required to see an effect. Studies recommend fish oil intake of 18g per day, although few people actually manage this amount. Lyprinol has been shown to be effective at an intake of 1 to 2 capsules per day. This is equivalent to just 100mg of Lyprinol oil and 300mg of olive oil. Independent studies have compared Lyprinol to several foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Using an accepted animal model to measure swelling, Lyprinol has been shown to be:

· 100 times more potent than EPA Max (fish oil)
· 125 times more potent than original freeze dried mussel powder
· 175 times more potent than evening primrose oil
· 175 times more potent than Salmon Oil
· 200 times more potent than Flax Oil

Lyprinol works by interacting with the metabolic pathways that influence the inflammation process. This is because the Omega-3 PUFAs present in Lyprinol are metabolised in the body instead of other fatty acids responsible for starting and prolonging the process of inflammation.

Lyprinol is one of the best natural sources of Omega-3 in the diet, because it contains additional lipids, unique to the Green Lipped Mussel - its like fish oil but better.

No side effects Lyprinol has none of the side effects associated with fish oils. Fish oil supplements are dietary supplements that contain oil from cold water fish such as mackerel, salmon, black cod, albacore tuna, sardines, and herring. The active ingredients in fish oil supplements are essential fatty acids known as Omega-3 fatty acids. They typically include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Common side effects of fish oil supplements include:
· fishy breath
· upset stomach
· greasy stools

Serious side effects include an increase in the harmful form of LDL cholesterol, large doses of fish oil supplements needed to achieve the potency of Lyprinol may also cause weight gain and decrease the absorption of vitamins A, E, D, and K from the stomach. If you have diabetes, use caution when taking fish oil supplements, they are reported to increase blood sugar.

Taking large amounts of fish oils over a long period of time may increase the risk of mild bleeding resulting in nosebleeds and bruising.
